Kay Danes has received tremendous recognition over the years as a volunteer humanitarian and aid worker. She is the recipient of numerous community awards and was a nominee in the Pride of Australia medal. The Mayor of Redlands City Council, Melva Hobson, recognised Kay’s international service in a special international community service award which she presented to Kay at the 2009 Australia Day Awards.
Kay’s diplomatic efforts have earned her the respect, and the ear of, some of the world’s most influential individuals and government figures. Kay stimulates community spirit and arouses the determination to make the world a better place.

In January 2011, Kay Danes received a personal invitation from the Governor-General of Australia to attend the national launch of a new book: “Women’s Words of Wisdom, Power & Passion” to which Kay is being featured as a humanitarian. The book promotes 50 of Australia’s most adored celebrities, fashion icons, industry leaders, sporting legends, unsung heroes, high achievers and women of the land who have come together to share their wisdom. The celebration of this event will take place at Government House on March 8th, 2011 in celebration of the 100th anniversary of International Women’s Day. This recognition is further testimony to Kay’s strong contribution to humanitarian aid work.
